Dynamic Contraction Technique

Dynamic Contraction Technique™ ("DCT™") is a unique blend of resistance stretching and strength training that incorporates principles from western biomechanics and eastern holistic approaches to give its users a profound therapeutic whole-body workout experience. The technique is simple in principle, practical in use, and profound in its results, offering tools for people at all levels of athletic and physical abilities – we’ve worked with Major League Baseball players, quadriplegics, and everyone in between. The exercises are specifically designed to increase flexibility and muscle strength through a greater range of motion by removing tension from the body.

DCT™ practitioners begin by using proper biomechanical alignment and posture as a guide to hone in on structural alignment issues caused by muscle tension. Once these and any other associated problems have been identified, DCT™ practitioners use their understanding of the body and the relationship between tension and its numerous effects on the body to create a customized therapeutic workout experience.

DCT™ exercises can be performed alone, known as Personal Exercises, or with a certified trainer/therapist to facilitate an Assisted Exercise routine. Personal exercises are performed by resisting against one’s own body, the ground, a wall or other equipment. Assisted exercises are performed by the practitioner resisting the movement of the client and either allowing the target muscle to shorten against resistance or forcing the target muscle to lengthen against resistance.
